Introducing the New Soueast SUV Range in Ghana

J.A. Plant Pool Ghana Ltd., a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies, has introduced a new range of Soueast Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to the Ghanaian market. This launch is aimed at addressing the increasing demand for affordable, fuel-efficient, and reliable vehicles that cater to both urban and long-distance travel needs.

The event took place at the company’s premises in Dzorwulu, Accra, and marked the start of the ‘Soueast Experience Week’. The unveiling featured four models: S06, S06DM (a hybrid), S07, and S09. These models were presented to an audience that included stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, including banking representatives and government officials.

Government Support for Sustainable Mobility

Speaking on behalf of the Minister for Transport, Daniel Essel, Head of Road Transport Services at the Ministry, emphasized the significance of the launch. He noted that the introduction of these vehicles aligns with the government’s broader transportation and climate strategies.

“This is a timely response to Ghana’s evolving transportation landscape and the growing demand for affordable, fuel-efficient, and environmentally responsible vehicles,” Mr. Essel said. He added that this initiative reflects a commitment to sustainable development goals and the Paris Agreement.

He further highlighted that new automotive investments are more than just about market expansion. “Launching a new vehicle line is not just a business decision; it is an investment in people, infrastructure, and national growth,” he stated. The government remains committed to fostering innovation in the transport sector by supporting private enterprises.

Embracing Clean Energy and Local Assembly

Ing. James J. Annan, Business Strategist at J.A. Plant Pool, spoke about the company’s awareness of global shifts towards cleaner energy and sustainability standards. “The global shift toward cleaner energy is not a trend, it is the future,” he explained. In addition to gasoline-powered models, the company is proud to introduce a hybrid option that serves as a transitional, eco-friendly solution.

Plans are also underway to begin local assembly of the vehicles in Ghana within the coming years. This move is part of the firm’s commitment to supporting local industry and creating job opportunities.

Engineering for Ghana’s Roads

Dr. Alex Atakorah, Chief Operating Officer for the Technical and Logistics Cluster of J.A. Plant Pool, described the new Soueast models as “engineered for Ghana.” Each vehicle is built with advanced technology, durable construction, and the capability to navigate Ghana’s roads with ease and confidence.
