The Controversy Surrounding Hulk Hogan’s Death and Cremation
Hulk Hogan, the legendary WWE icon, passed away on July 24 due to a cardiac arrest. According to a Florida medical examiner's report, the 71-year-old had a history of health issues, including leukemia and atrial fibrillation, an irregular heart rhythm. Despite these conditions, his daughter Brooke has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding his death.
In the days following her father's passing, Brooke took to social media to voice her concerns, suggesting that foul play might be involved. She recently shared an update stating that the WWE legend's body has not yet been cremated as planned, and she is calling for further investigation into his death.
"I'm glad to see that my dad has not been cremated and that Sky is waiting because of family questions," Brooke wrote on her Instagram story. "With all of the speculation and uncertainty of my dad's death, I want to personally offer to pay for an autopsy if that's what it takes to get it done. My dad's dignity and legacy deserves it."
Brooke also shared an article by radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge, which questioned the quick cremation without an autopsy. Her response was simple: "Exactly." This has fueled more public debate about the circumstances of Hogan’s death.
The Clearwater Police Department addressed the rumors, stating that there are no signs of foul play or anything suspicious about the death. Hogan was pronounced dead at a hospital less than 90 minutes after medics arrived at his home in Clearwater following a cardiac arrest call. The official cause of death was listed as natural.
Bubba, whose real name is Todd Clem, has made several allegations, including claims that Hogan's body was already cremated and that someone may have injected something into the wrestler’s dialysis port while he slept, leading to a heart attack. He also questioned why an autopsy wasn’t performed.
However, Bubba has not provided any concrete evidence to support these claims. His statements stem from a report in the Tampa Bay Times that mentioned Hogan was “doing therapy” when he collapsed at his home in Clearwater Beach on July 24. The report noted that paramedics told staff at Morton Plant Hospital that Hogan had just returned from surgery and was “currently waiting to start dialysis.” Clem claims that nobody knew the wrestling icon was scheduled to begin dialysis.
Medics reportedly administered drugs to treat excessive potassium levels, a sign of kidney failure, which can lead to cardiac arrest. They also gave him two milligrams of Narcan, a drug used to reverse opioid overdoses. However, there is no indication that Hogan had overdosed.
According to the death certificate, Hogan is set to be cremated at the Bay Area Crematory in Clearwater. A specific date for the cremation has not been announced. However, it seems that his widow has paused the plans to allow for an autopsy amid the ongoing speculation.
In response to the allegations, Sky, who married Hogan in 2023, initially pushed back. She referred to "misleading media stories created by faceless AI accounts" and urged followers to be patient as more information about Hogan’s fatal heart attack comes to light.
Clem also highlighted Sky’s connections to Scientology and mentioned that Hogan’s estate is estimated to be worth between $40 million and $50 million. During a recent interview on his YouTube show, Brooke added to the controversy by discussing her early interactions with Sky.
"She's nice, and she's cool, and, you know, I don't really want to go into too much detail about our conversations, but he was saying, you know, 'She's pushing the marriage thing real hard,'" Brooke said about the time leading up to her father’s 2023 marriage to Sky.
Brooke claimed that her father told her that Sky was concerned about leaving the Church of Scientology. "He goes, 'Oh, well, she just doesn't want to leave [the Church of Scientology] because she still wants her kids to be able to see the grandparents and they are the highest level…'" she explained.
This ongoing debate highlights the complex emotions and questions surrounding one of wrestling's most iconic figures. As the situation continues to unfold, many are waiting for clarity and answers about the final chapter of Hulk Hogan's life.
