Adrian believed that audiences were attracted to the show, especially his upright character, because of a period of political uncertainty during the pandemic.
When the Partygate scandal broke - a political controversy in which Conservatives were seen partying and consuming alcohol during a government-mandated lockdown - Adrian thinks supporters turned to Ted Hastings for comfort.
He told the Belfast Telegraph: "While the Conservatives were celebrating and hosting events, viewers of Line of Duty wondered, 'Is there anyone out there who, regardless of the impact on their careers, is prepared to do what's right?'"
I believe that's why so many individuals were drawn to Ted.
As reported by The Sun, the cast will begin shooting the new six-part series in January, once their other obligations have concluded.
A television insider shared with the outlet: 'This is the news that fans of Line of Duty have been anticipating since the sixth season, which left them disappointed when it was released in 2021.'
The BBC quickly asked for additional episodes to keep the narrative going, but the program's popularity led Vicky, Martin, and Adrian to be immediately hired for other endeavors.

They stated: 'However, following multiple discussions with Jed [Mercurio, the show's creator and writer] and the production crew, they have ultimately been able to make room in their schedules for next year to pledge their involvement in the series.'
