Among the remarks President Donald Trump expressedwhen speaking from the UK on Mondaywas that he had rejected the "privilege" of visiting sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein's private island — thought to be a hub for his exploitation of young girls.
The statement shocked those watching.
By the way, I never visited the island, and Bill Clinton is said to have been there 28 times," Trump stated at the press briefing. "I never went to the island, but Larry Summers, as far as I know, did. He was the leader of Harvard, along with many other prominent individuals. No one ever mentions them.

I never had the chance to visit his island, and I actually declined the invitation, but many people from Palm Beach were invited there. On one of my better days, I turned it down. I didn't feel like going to his island.
It encouraged online users to emphasize the notion that Trump would refer to the visit to the island as a "privilege."
"He never had the 'privilege' of visiting Epstein's island?!?!" exclaimed the podcaster andpolitical commentator Jo Carducci.
Podcaster Brian Allenposted on X, "‘Privilege’ is carrying a lot of weight here."
Filmmaker Jeremy Newberger questioned, "The advantage of visiting a rape island?"
"The privilege" is absurd," said the Never Trump organization,The Lincoln Project.
Former MSNBC newsman Keith Olbermann shared on X, "Trump refers to visiting Epstein's Island as a 'privilege.' Last Friday, he mentioned the names he shares here, saying 'I'll provide a list.' Trump is digging his own grave."
The Tennessee HollerA media outlet posted on X, "Trump asserts that no one has questioned him regarding the pardon, calls the Epstein documents a 'fraud,' claims Garland, Comey, and Biden tampered with (and neglected to disclose), and states he never had the 'privilege' of visiting Epstein's island."
Meanwhile, AltNationalParks, a "resistance" account established in 2017 following Trump's initial term, noted, "Trump is making a significant effort to persuade people that the Epstein documents are merely a 'fraud.' During his meeting with Starmer today in Scotland, he dismissed inquiries, stating, 'They can insert false information into the files.'"
"He claimed he hadn't been focusing much on the demands from his MAGA supporters to release the files because they were 'controlled by my enemy.' His last argument was, 'If there was anything in there, they would have used it in the previous election.' He seems to be getting more anxious every day," the account also mentioned.
That final point elicited a reaction from the former metro editor at Chicago Tribune,Mark Jacob, who questionedTrump's reasoning regarding Bluesky, "Trump claims that 'bad, sick' Democrats might have altered the Epstein documents to make him appear negative. Excellent logic from Cheetolini. He is implying that the Democrats set him up, but neglected to disclose the evidence, allowed him to win the election, and then secretly provided the Epstein documents to him."
