A relative of Lumba comments on his passing
After his death, a claimed relative of Daddy Lumba has made public statements regarding the late musician's health problems.
In an interview with the Accra-based radio station Angel FM, an unknown elderly woman, who is said to be the aunt of the deceased, mentioned that the highlife musician had been facing health problems related to his spine.
She stated that the musician did not show up for an event organized by his former school, Juaben Senior High School, after his Legends Night concert several months back.

A family member of Daddy Lumba mentioned that the late highlife musician later told him about his critical health condition, which had resulted in him being confined to a wheelchair after she called to ask about his absence from the school event.
She said:
I was only aware of his back problems. I hadn't seen him for a long time after the Legends Night event. He was scheduled to perform at the Juaben Secondary School's anniversary celebration, but he didn't turn up when I went there.
I contacted him while returning home and inquired why he hadn't shown up at the event. He explained that he had become ill following the Legends Night event and had lost the ability to walk. He mentioned that he was now using a wheelchair.
As per the woman, the late musician stated that healthcare providers had not accurately identified his medical issue.
She stated that Daddy Lumba's associates had also faced difficulties in recognizing the problem and finding a solution even after several discussions outside the medical field.
The woman mentioned that she transported the late highlife artist to a different medical center, where he had a successful operation.
She mentioned that she hadn't been in touch with Daddy Lumba for some time before she learned about his tragic death.

Regarding spinal cord surgery, it is similar to brain surgery and is connected to the brain. You might become paralysed after the operation, but overall, he is gone. God gives and He takes. It's painful, but he is gone.
