Life was so private that no one knew I wasn't retained after NYSC. I was extremely heartbroken. However, I made a courageous move and applied directly to the company's headquarters... and by God's mercy, I secured the job! A woman uses her NYSC stipend to apply for a visa

Earlier, zaia news.ngIt was reported that a Nigerian woman stated she spent her entire stipend received during her NYSC on processing her visa application.

Nevertheless, she mentioned she was turned down, and all the funds she accumulated during her service year were lost without any benefit.

She shared the story on X, where it is receiving numerous responses, as many individuals pointed out that she took significant financial risks.

She wrote:

I didn't use any of my NYSC allowance. At that time, I was employed by a company, and I would withdraw ₦200 from my salary, then add it to the allowance to reach ₦20,000. I used this money to begin processing my U.S. master's application, covering the application fee, sending transcripts, and other associated expenses. In the end, my visa was rejected. Every bit of money was wasted. I was really upset. I even added more funds because it wasn't sufficient, honestly.
