From Doubt to Dreams: Telecel's 2Moorch Money Promo Transforms a Nurse's Life

A 44-year-old nurse from Berekum, Daniel Asiedu, was informed that he had won a weekly cash prize of GH¢20,000 in the current Telecel 2Moorch Money Promo, but his initial reaction was not one of happiness.

Rather, the terror of being abducted or offered as a sacrifice took hold of him. "I believed it was a ritualistic killing circle attempting to entice me. I've heard tales about individuals being tricked with offers of money, only to vanish. I debated with the person on the phone and informed them that I wasn't coming anywhere. I'm aware of these tactics."

Daniel's doubts were well-founded. A year prior, he had fallen victim to a hack on a different network, resulting in financial loss and a diminished trust in mobile promotions. He mentioned that he enrolled in the Telecel 2Moorch Money campaign last month solely because he had previously won GH¢100 daily cash in the More Money promotion. However, convincing him to believe and accept the GH¢20,000 weekly win this time was challenging.

When Kwaku Asiedu, Telecel Ghana's Executive Head for Ashanti and Brong Ahafo, attempted to persuade him that his victory was genuine, he strongly opposed the idea. "I told them, if you want me to believe, deposit the money into my account first. I'm not going anywhere to be taken advantage of," he remembered, chuckling at the memory now.

A calm tone from the Telecel representative during the intense conversation, along with a subtle voice of curiosity, encouraged him to eventually go to the prize ceremony. Still, he remained doubtful and kept glancing around, wondering if it was a trap.

Kwaku, who managed Daniel's victory, recalls the experience clearly. "Even during the cash presentation ceremony when he was signing the acceptance documents, he was still uncertain. He arrived with some relatives and kept saying, 'Until the money is in my account, I won't believe it.' But when it finally arrived, the expression on his face told everything."

The critical moment arrived when the GH¢20,000 cash prize was transferred into his Telecel Cash account during the live presentation event following the symbolic cheque handover. For a man who had previously been a self-proclaimed doubting Thomas, this marked a pivotal change. The Telecel 2Moorch Money campaign is the telecommunications company's largest customer reward program to date, with more than 10,000 customers set to receive daily and weekly cash rewards before the grand prize of GHC1.2 million is revealed in September.

By Friday, July 25, more than 5,500 daily winners have already taken home GH¢100 each, while 46 fortunate weekly winners have each been given GH¢20,000, which was transferred into their Telecel Cash accounts. Winners have come from various suburbs and towns throughout the country such as Hohoe, Accra, Tafo, Kete Krachi, Savelugu, Tamale, Koforidua, Assin Foso, Aburi, Nsawam, Bantama, Konongo, Agona Nwanta, and Sefwi, to name a few.

"Daniel's shift from being scared of ritual scams to experiencing genuine wins is precisely the reason the 2Moorch Money promotion was created—to bring positive changes to lives and link customers with financial benefits. We have more than a month left, and we're rewarding 120 customers with GH¢100 each day; up to eight winners can claim GH¢20,000 weekly, while the most fortunate Telecel user will win the life-altering amount of GH¢1.2 million," said Aneth Muga, Director of Consumer Business at Telecel Ghana.

Available to all active Telecel users, including business clients, Telecel customers can choose to participate by dialing *500#, texting 'WIN' to 500, or enabling it through the Telecel Play app. Users can enhance their odds of winning by buying airtime, data packages, or conducting transactions using their Telecel Cash accounts.

Daniel mentioned that the cash prize significantly transformed his life right away. He purchased a plot of land just two weeks after winning, which is the first step towards the home he has always envisioned. Currently, Daniel is striving for the grand prize of GH¢1.2 million to fund his dream house and paint it red as a tribute to Telecel.

Meanwhile, he has emerged as an unexpected representative, persuading all his colleagues at the hospital to participate in the promotion. "I used to question these promotions, but I can now confidently state that Telecel is not 'azaa'. The 2Moorch Money offer is genuine, and you have the chance to win GH¢20,000 and transform your life, so please join right away," Daniel said, speaking with a persuasive tone.
