The European Football League is leaving its impression on the NFL. Nadine Nurasyid of theStuttgart Surgeand Henry Schlegel of theNordic Stormhave been chosen to become part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers under the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship for the 2025 season.
This initiative, developed by the NFL, is designed to provide coaches from various backgrounds with hands-on experience throughout training camps, mini-camps, and exhibition games. The goal is straightforward: to assist promising coaches in acquiring the expertise and professional relationships required to secure permanent positions in the world of professional football.
Nadine Nurasyid: Breaking barriersNadine Nurasyid has long been associated with creating history. Beginning her football journey in 2013 with the Munich Cowboys Ladies, she swiftly advanced, securing a spot on the German National Team and participating in various international competitions.
Her coaching career started during her playing days, and she has since taken on positions with the German National Team, the Munich Cowboys, and currently the Stuttgart Surge, where she serves as a Defensive Assistant Coach. Nurasyid was also the first woman to lead a men's football team in Germany, establishing herself as a true trailblazer in European football.
Her being chosen for the Fellowship will allow her to work closely with NFL players and coaches during the Buccaneers' preseason, offering a valuable chance to develop as a coach on the sport's highest level.

Henry Schlegel: A young trainer with lofty aspirationsOnly 25 years old, Henry Schlegel has already accomplished more than most people. He became the youngest Offensive Coordinator in ELF history with theBerlin Thunderprior to becoming the Quarterbacks Coach for the Nordic Storm.
Schlegel began his coaching career in 2019 with the Hildesheim Young Invaders, rapidly advancing through different positions in Germany, while also acquiring experience in the United States at Bethune Cookman University and Alabama State University.
Now, as the Nordic Storm experiences an amazing first season, Schlegel adds this Fellowship to his resume - another significant milestone in his coaching journey.
Why this Fellowship mattersThe Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship is among the NFL's most esteemed initiatives for nurturing minority coaches. Each year, all 32 NFL teams host fellows who gain hands-on experience by working closely with their coaching staffs, offering them an exclusive glimpse into how NFL teams get ready for a season.
